Reframing Care at Work

A new national initiative to assess and reframe working caregivers as essential to workplace competitiveness, driving workplaces to enable women and all workers to thrive.

Narrow, zero-sum narratives frame support for working caregivers—especially women—as cost, risk, or accommodation, stalling employer and decisionmaker action. Thriving Together: Reframing Care at Work uses proven framing science methodology to move from research to action through scaled deployment to SHRM Foundation's 340,000 employer network, in partnership with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. Robust evaluation tracks narrative uptake and shifts in practice and policy, creating a durable, replicable model that outlasts the grant.
